 At the ACT Container Deposit Scheme (CDS), the health and well-being of our customers, our staff and the community are our priority. That is why the ACT CDS and our network operator, Return-It, have implemented increased safety measures during these challenging times.   
  
When visiting any of the ACT CDS return points that are open, please ensure it is in line with the latest Public Health Directions. When you arrive, please check-in with the Check In CBR app, maintain social distancing of at least 1.5 metres from others, wear a mask, practice good hygiene including using hand sanitiser to clean hands before and after returning, and follow the latest Public Health Directions. If you are feeling unwell, please stay home and return containers when you are feeling better.  

Cash-back depots  

Return-it have introduced ‘Drive & Drop’ at the Fyshwick and Mitchell cash-back depots from Wednesday 8 September 2021 enabling you to drive up to the entrance, drop off your eligible containers and receive your refund by electronic payment.  

Simply bag your eligible containers at home, then drive to the Fyshwick or Mitchell depots to drop off your bags. You will need to have a Return-It Express Account to receive your refund as no cash payments will be available at this time. Refunds will be processed within one business day.  

When visiting the depot please ensure you follow the latest Public Health Directions including wearing a mask and checking in via the QR code on site, and please follow the directions of staff. Containers must be securely bagged before they are dropped off. 

The Fyshwick and Mitchell depots will be open from 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and from 9am to 3pm on Sundays.  

The Belconnen and Phillip cash-back depots remain temporarily closed at this time.

Drop & Go Pods  

Our Drop & Go Pods are open and can be accessed in line with the latest Public Health Directions.    
  
Return-It have implemented additional safety measures at all Drop & Go Pods including hand-sanitiser dispensers at each pod, QR codes for checking in, increased cleaning throughout the day with disinfection of chute handles and display screens.  

There may be slight delays in processing Drop & Go Pod refunds due to COVID restrictions. We are working to process these as quickly as possible and thank you for your patience in these challenging times.
